Our Biblical Foundation

Bridging the GAP on CSA exists to defend the vulnerable, support survivors, and pursue accountability within spiritual communities. Guided by Scripture, we expose darkness with humility, seek justice with mercy, and stand without fear. We believe God restores beauty from ashes, that truth sets captives free, and that protecting children is not optional — it is obedience.

At Bridging the GAP on CSA, our work flows from more than compassion alone. It is rooted in Scripture—the kind that comforts the brokenhearted, calls us to protect the vulnerable, brings hidden things into the light, and guides us to pursue justice with humility and mercy. These passages shape not only what we stand for, but how we stand. They remind us to remain steady, grounded, and faithful as we support survivors, address harm within spiritual communities, and seek restoration.

The verses below form the biblical foundation of our mission and the posture we strive to maintain in every conversation.

Scriptural Foundation

The Biblical Backbone of Bridging the GAP on CSA

Bridging the GAP on CSA was not born from outrage, but from conviction. We believe protecting children, supporting survivors, and addressing injustice within spiritual communities is not optional activism. It is biblical obedience.

The following Scriptures shape both our posture and our mission.

Defend the Vulnerable

Psalm 82:3–4
“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

This is not a suggestion. It is instruction.
Scripture commands the defense of the vulnerable, and we stand in response to that call.

Expose Darkness

Ephesians 5:11
“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”

Silence protects systems. Truth protects people.
Exposure, when carried out with humility and care, is not rebellion. It is obedience when harm has occurred.

Justice with Humility

Micah 6:8
“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.”

Justice, mercy, and humility form our framework.
We seek accountability without cruelty and reform without hatred.

The Protection of Children

Matthew 18:6
“If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck…”

Jesus was not passive about harm to children.
Neither are we.

Truth Brings Freedom

John 8:32
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Truth is not hostility. It is liberation.
Silence leaves trauma unresolved. Honest acknowledgment creates space for healing—spiritually and psychologically.

God Near the Broken

Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

To every survivor: God has not abandoned you.
His nearness to the broken shapes our commitment to care with dignity.

No Partiality

James 2:1
“Believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.”

Protecting leaders while dismissing victims contradicts Scripture.
We are not attacking the church. We are calling it back to its own standard.

Shepherd Accountability

Ezekiel 34:4
“You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured…”

Spiritual leadership carries responsibility.
Where shepherds fail to protect the vulnerable, Scripture speaks clearly.

Beauty from Ashes

Isaiah 61:3
“To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes…”

Survivors are not defined by what was done to them.
God restores. Healing is possible.

Stand Without Fear

2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

Fear silences. Intimidation controls.
Scripture calls us to act with courage, love, and clarity.

These passages form the foundation of our work. They guide how we protect, how we speak, how we pursue accountability, and how we seek restoration.

Our commitment is steady, not reactive.
Rooted in Scripture.
Grounded in conviction.
Focused on protection and healing.

Our Commitment

We commit to:

  • Protecting the vulnerable
  • Supporting survivors with dignity
  • Encouraging accountability within spiritual leadership
  • Speaking truth with steadiness
  • Pursuing justice without abandoning mercy

This work is not political.
It is pastoral.
It is protective.
It is biblical.

We stand because Scripture requires it.
And we believe that truth, handled with humility, leads to restoration.
